A fertilized female louse will use the hair as a bridge to transfer
to a new host. It takes 3 seconds for a louse to move from one head of hair to
another. She will start laying nits on day one.
A wet Head Check is performed to identify evidence
of a head lice infestation. Signs of a head lice
infestation are nits,
empty shells or any live lice.
A Boy’s/Men's Treatment takes 30-45 minutes depending upon the size of the head lice infestation and the tenderness of the scalp.
A scheduled Follow Up visit will take 15-30 minutes per family member. If remaining head lice evidence is found, a second Follow Up visit is required.
A typical Girl’s/Women's Treatment takes up to 1-1½ hours. Duration depends on length and thickness of hair as well as the size of the head lice infestation.
A scheduled Follow Up visit will take 15-30 minutes per family member. If remaining head lice evidence is found, a second Follow Up visit is required.
1. The client will be required to have a Follow Up visit 5-7 days post treatment to receive clearance of head lice and begin the 30 Day Guarantee.
2. An information packet is sent home with every family to reiterate tips for home cleaning, how to prevent head lice and how to be proactive.
The Lice Specialist Guarantee:
I guarantee my services for 30 days post
Follow Up for any individual treated by The Lice Specialist
once they have been cleared of head lice.
1.
Using a conditioning repellant spray, my focus is removing the infestation rather than killing it.
• Why? I know that nothing kills 100 percent of the infestation so I would rather keep our focus and remove the problem while leaving a repelling scent behind.
2.
Once the hair is saturated, I use the Nit Free Terminator Comb to thoroughly comb the entire head of hair working in small manageable sections to remove the nits and live bugs.
• Why? The Lice Specialist has tested many lice combs on the market since 2009. The Nit Free Terminator Comb has the tightest teeth to pull out the most stubborn nits.
3.
Concluding the Treatment phase, a demonstration of the Homework Combing process is presented.
• Why? To ensure all clients are free of head lice on the Follow Up visit, I ask that the parent continue with a quick 1-Step combing process at home. A little extra effort goes a long way!
